Prevention of anthrax

Anthrax is an extremely dangerous infectious disease found in animals and humans, transmitted from animals to people, which manifests mainly as a characteristic skin sore (carbuncle) and, more rarely, in pulmonary and intestinal forms. The disease is caused by anthrax bacteria and spreads from animal to animal and from animals to people; however, transmission from person to person and from person to animals has not been established. Anthrax is transmitted to people during the slaughter of animals with the disease, skinning, cutting up the meat, cleaning the stomach, intestines and offal, as well as while caring for sick animals, as a result of eating meat products that have not been sufficiently heat-treated, or during the transport, storage and processing of animal hides. People engaged in livestock farming, meat processors and hunters fall ill more often.
